Boat and RV Storage near Colorado Springs: Ute Pass Guide

Woodland Park Storage • August 26, 2026

Every spring it plays out the same way. The first warm weekend hits, the boat comes out of the side yard, and half the driveways in Colorado Springs remember the same problem at once: the HOA letter from last fall is still on the fridge, and the trailer cannot stay where it is. If that is how your search for boat storage near Colorado Springs started, you are in good company, and the fix is closer than you think.

Our Highway 24 property sits at 11120 W Hwy 24 in Green Mountain Falls, about 20 minutes up Ute Pass from the west side of town. It has open-air parking for RVs, boats, trailers, and extra vehicles, plus enclosed bays for when you want four walls around them. Gated, month-to-month, and your gate code works around the clock.

Twenty minutes is the sweet spot

Here is the logic most owners land on after a season or two. Storage in town is tight and pricey, and your rig still has to climb the pass every time you use it. Storing in Green Mountain Falls means the boat or camper is already on the way to where it is going, whether that is a ramp up the corridor or a campsite toward the Rampart Range. Friday after work, you are hooking up in a wide gravel aisle instead of threading a trailer through neighborhood streets.

And when winter comes, you are not tripping over it until April.

Open-air space or an enclosed bay?

About half the vehicles here sit in open-air spaces, and it is the right call for most trailers, fifth wheels, pontoon boats, and motorhomes. It is the quickest to reserve and the easiest on the budget.

Some rigs earn a roof, though. The property has enclosed 10x20 and 10x25 vehicle bays with roll-up doors, and an 18x25 multi-door bay for the genuinely big stuff. If you have a boat you baby, a project car with fresh paint, or anything you would rather keep out of the sun and snow, that is the move.

Your vehicle Where it usually goes
Pontoon or fishing boat on a trailer Open-air space, or a 10x25 bay if it is your pride and joy
Travel trailer or fifth wheel Open-air space
Class A or Class C motorhome Open-air space, or the 18x25 bay
Daily driver, classic car, or project car 10x20 bay

Storing through a mountain winter

Green Mountain Falls sits around 7,800 feet, so winter prep is not optional. The owners who roll out clean in spring all did the same handful of things in fall:

  • Boats: drain the engine block, ballast, and livewells, stabilize the fuel, and cover or shrink-wrap. If you hop between reservoirs, Colorado Parks and Wildlife keeps current rules on registration and aquatic nuisance species worth a read.
  • RVs: bypass the water heater, run RV antifreeze through the lines, pull or disconnect the battery, and cover the tires. Go RVing has good seasonal checklists if you want the full version.
  • Cars: full tank, stabilizer, battery tender, breathable cover.

Because your gate code works 24 hours a day, plenty of owners swing by in January to run an engine or check a cover. Nobody has to wait for an office to open.

How reserving works

Open the locations page, pick the Green Mountain Falls property, choose your space or bay, and finish the lease online. It takes about five minutes, it is month-to-month with no deposit, and the gate code arrives by text and email. You can park the same day, which is exactly what happens most Saturdays in April.

If you are also staring at a garage full of everything else, our Woodland Park storage units guide covers drive-up units at both of our properties. And the site tour page has video and photos if you want to see the yard before you commit.
